The Last Pink Shower?

In Mumbai, along the Eastern Express Highway line, over 700 pink trumpet trees ( Popularly known as Mumbai cherry blossom) are set to be cut by the MMRDA. These Trees are not just important for their aesthetics, but to represent one of the city’s rare seasonal bursts of natural beauty in an otherwise concrete landscape. It is high time that we, as citizens, note that the Government taking steps towards development are not sustainable and are only causing more and more harm to us. Is it only for the love of power and money? Does the lives us the citizens not matter anymore?

Here's a poem-

The world remains a void still

Where love secretly thrives

Amongst the Haters, the blindfold fools, the Corrupt-

It still survives.

The ravens they run away

From their homes to seek shelter

The trees they embrace them

As the seasons grow colder.

They musn't croak nor must they fly

For the traps they set may cost them lives.

When the snow makes them blue

The tree sheds its leaves

As blankets of love

For the lovers, and to them it cleaves.

When the summers scorch

And they cry for their rememberance

The tree holds them a bit longer

As it showers its pink fragnance.

When the blossom creates a radiant scene

The world looks surprised

At the tree which sheltered the unholy

Thats when they nomore hide.

But then, they kill these innumerable trees

Which shelter these innumerable lovers.

Tell me where do I find a home?

Tell me am I free to hide nomore?

They plan their roads, their highways, their convineance

"But what of my right to exist?" They ask.

The ravens only croak, and the tree showers love

Is it not enough of a reason to last.

The poets they gather and write with their tears,

For they have felt the apricity.

They keep a question to the world discreetly,

"When will you let me live freely?"

It is now the time that we take the signs, and use our words, our rights, our voices against such activities. I urge everyone to stand up for the enviroment which ultimately means standing up for our longetivity. All youngsters must use their power, The Power of the Youth. We must bestow and delegate the adults who can vote in our houses bout the same.

I hope the message is heard by all. For the world is in danger and the letter 'W' stands for WE.
